Ernie Hargett
Gospel Choir & Voice
Ernie Hargett began playing piano and singing gospel at the age of ten. To hear Ernie put it, gospel is in his soul. Ernie has founded gospel choirs, arranged songs, recorded gospel music and most of all, sung. From traditional standards like Amazing Grace to the hip hop sound of Kirk Franklin he has done it all. He studied at Hofstra University, and privately with Marguerite Burke. He has been directing gospel choirs for over 25 years.
Mr. Hargett is currently the minister of music at Second Baptist Church in Boulder where he directs 6 choirs. In addition to gospel, Ernie worked at Walt Disney World as a singer for five years. He has performed on Broadway and in touring companies. Ernie teaches gospel and jazz voice lessons in addition to directing the family Gospel Choir and Gospel Kids.
