VOICE, MUSICAL THEATER AND DRAMA

  •

  • Parlando’s Broadway in Boulder Studios is the original, and most comprehensive, series of Musical Theater preparatory classes and voice lessons in the region.  Our advanced students routinely receive lead roles in school-based, pre-professional and professional productions, are accepted into the most competitive musical theater collegiate programs in the country and audition for roles in New York and Chicago.  One of our students, Aida Neitenbach, recently returned home to Colorado after landing the role of “Jane Banks” in Disney’s touring production of Mary Poppins.

  • Notes on Audition Book Listings
Parlando’s Broadway in Boulder Studios Voice and Theatrical Studio is under the artistic direction Broadway stars and Parlando Faculty members David Ayers (Wicked, Fiddler on the Roof, Mamma Mia!) and Angela Gaylor (La Cage Aux Folles, Hairspray, Oklahoma!).  All of our “Audition Book” classes are designed to help students learn how to connect to their material and audiences in order to produce the most engaging and professional performance possible.  Classes for younger students are designed to teach students the basics of auditioning, rehearsing and performing while our more intensive programs are intended to help students reach their highest potential in preparation for major local roles, collegiate programs and national auditions.

  • Audition Book Description - All Audition Book classes are based on Angela Gaylor and David Ayers’s personal years of study and training with famed New York coach and composer, Craig Carnelia, this class is truly a one-of-a-kind and without peer in the region. Students focus on connection to material, an understanding of multiple genres and styles, tools to conquer cold reads and audition sides, and a personalized song and monologue list based on ability and type. All students perform in every class. Previous singing experience required.
