Parlando's Instrumental Studio encompasses all band and orchestra instruments other than voice and piano. Weekly private lessons are 30, 45 or 60 minutes long. Group lessons are also available as “duet lessons” or “trio lessons” when students are matched by level and rate of progress. New students may enroll at any time by calling or emailing us. Tuition is prorated for new students who begin after the term has started.

Intro to Violin
This new offering for Fall of 2010 is a stand alone violin class where students will learn the fundamentals of playing the violin in a group setting. Students will develop experiences with music and music making; experience a strong musical foundation, and develop basic violin skills.

This supplemental class encourages students to have fun together with violin games and beginning songs. This class will reinforce basic technical skills and knowledge for budding violinists. Intended for beginning violin students, this class can be added after a few lessons and your private lesson teacher’s approval. Ages 5-7

This supplemental class uses the “Fiddlers Philharmonic” series to explore group playing, improvisation, melody and harmony. This class is for students at the end of Suzuki Book 1/beginning of Suzuki Book 2 (or equivalent) and can be added with your private lesson teacher’s approval. Ages 6-10

Pre-Youth Orchestra
Parlando's "Pre Youth Orchestra" has been designed to fill the gap for string students in Suzuki Books 1-3 (or equivalent) who are not yet eligible to participate in the local youth symphony or are too young to participate in their school orchestra. Students will learn independent playing, working together as a section, marking parts and what it means to work with and follow a conductor. Students will further their preparations for 'the next step' by participating in two informal concerts each academic year (one per semester). In late spring audition prep classes will be held to prepare for the transition to the local youth symphony. These classes will be held during our regular class time and will include mock auditions.

Guitar-Ed
Guitar-Ed is designed for any adult wishing to learn guitar in a new, fun and accessible way. Learn simple melodies, play popular songs and enjoy the guitar without making practice seem like work. Learn ways to play music with people of any ability level. Adults who feel comfortable with the basics may also enjoy this course as a refresher or confidence builder!

Bixby violin lessons
This fall Parlando will be offering violin lessons on site at Bixby School in South Boulder. Private lessons can be taken between 3:30-5:00 on Tuesdays for students in Kindergarten and up. Adult Flute Choir
This group performs symphonic arrangements as well as compositions originally scored for flute ensemble in a variety of musical styles from Renaissance to Ragtime. Emphasis is on blend, intonation, style and interpretation. Sharpen your ensemble skills while having a great time making music in a supportive environment. Flute Choir is open to adult students playing any instrument in the flute family.

Clarinet Choir is open to adult students playing any instrument in the clarinet family. This is a fun-filled clarinet ensemble for students who have played clarinet for at least 2 years. Sharpen your ensemble skills, learn technique tips, and improve sight reading. Students will share their music in a final performance at the end of the semester.

Composition Class
Join Parlando faculty member Danny Meyer to learn about music creation. Using Danny's versatile and dynamic teaching style and musical experiences, this class is designed for students who have at least one year experience playing their instrument. Students will learn how create music, notate music, and blend instrumental sounds while having fun in an engaging environment.
**Minimum of 1 year experience on your instrument preferred.
