Music Instrument Classes

Parlando School for the Arts offers high quality instrument lessons in Boulder including guitar lessons, violin lessons and lessons for all school band and orchestra instruments. Our faculty is comprised of accomplished performers who also happen to be dynamic and professional instructors. Our faculty works with students of all ages and abilities to help students to become the best musicians they can be in a positive, supportive and encouraging environment. In addition to private lessons, we offer beginning group classes as well as semi private lessons. New students may enroll at any time by calling or emailing us. Tuition is prorated for new students who begin after the term has begun.

ADVANCED STRING ACADEMY (ASA)

the Advanced String Academy (ASA). The ASA will provide string students with a seamless integration of private lessons, group classes, masterclasses,
special performance opportunities and access to guest artists. Students accepted into the ASA will have the opportunity to discover their full potential in the most comprehensive, engaging and rigorous programming available -and they’ll have fun doing it! INSTRUMENTAL CLASSES- SPRING 2012

 

Chamber Music (all ages)
Interested in forming a chamber group?  Already have a group and looking for some coaching?  Contact our office to talk about your specific interests and needs and we will work with you to find just the right coach from our exceptional faculty.

Flute Choir - Adult (ages 18 and up)
This group performs symphonic arrangements as well as compositions originally scored for flute ensemble in a variety of musical styles from Renaissance to Ragtime. Emphasis is on blend, intonation, style and interpretation. Sharpen your ensemble skills while having a great time making music in a supportive environment. Flute Choir is open to adult students playing any instrument in the flute family.

Flute Choir - Youth (Requires minimum of 2 years experience)
The Youth Flute Ensemble gives budding flutists a chance to play with other students while building up ensemble skills. Emphasis is on blend, intonation, style and interpretation.  Participants should have at least 2 years experience playing flute.  Tuition includes a Parlando tshirt.

Jazz Combos - Adult (ages 18 and up)
Jazz Combos focus on improvisation skills, traditional jazz repertoire and standard performance practice in a small group setting. Combos may include any combination of rhythm section (drums, piano, guitar, vibraphone, acoustic bass/bass guitar) and melodic instruments (winds, brass and strings). Pre-existing groups are welcome. Other days/times will be added as needed. A public
performance may be scheduled at the end of each semester.

VIOLIN GROUP CLASSES

Violin/Basic Fiddlers Philharmonic (ages 5-10)
This supplemental class uses the "Fiddlers Philharmonic" series to explore group playing, improvisation, melody and harmony.  This class is designed for students in Twinkles through the end of Suzuki Book 2 (or equivalent) and can be added with the approval of your private lesson teacher.  Tuition includes a Parlando tshirt.
